Days of Lithuanian cinema at the Presidential Library

27 November 2013

November 27, 2013 at 15 p.m. in the framework of the Cinema Club the Presidential Library will launch the activities as part of the festival "Days of Lithuanian cinema in St. Petersburg." There will be a special demonstration and discussion of the film "In Memory of the Passed Day" - the participant of film forums and festivals, a prize-winner of the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam.

Sarunas Bartas, Lithuanian director, cinematographer, screenwriter, the author of the film managed to create a kind of a unique film. In the documentary film of 1990 he was able to convey his personal sense of reality: a one-time presence of the organic nature and inconsistency in the merging of man with bustling city life. The work is still relevant today and is the subject of great interest to residents of the metropolis. This film is also included in the program "Two generations," prepared jointly with the film festival "Message to Man".

Cinema Club of the Presidential Library has become the traditional form of interaction between the outstanding national and foreign cinema and the audience of different ages. The Presidential Library hosts demonstrations of documentary films by "LENDOK" studio, collaborates with "Lennauchfilm," organizes meetings with renowned directors and script writers; in addition, the first national electronic library is itself a cinematic laboratory.
