Memorial dates of Russia: The International Research Conference “Turgenev Readings-2018” in commemoration of 200th birth anniversary of the writer to be launched in Moscow

The International Research Conference “Turgenev Readings-2018”, the theme “Turgenev – our contemporary”, will run on November 19-20, 2018 in Moscow to mark 200th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Turgenev.

The conference will address the following issues:

- Ivan Turgenev in the world historical and literary context;

- the contemporary research of life and writings of Ivan Turgenev;

- new approaches and new facts in Turgenev studies;

- extension of Turgenev’s memorial and museum space;

- new forms and ways of popularization of the life and works of Ivan Turgenev;

- promotion of cooperation between research, museum, library and public centers during the year of Ivan Turgenev’s birth anniversary.

The program will also feature a roundtable discussion to summarize the results of celebration of Ivan Turgenev’s 200th birth anniversary.
