Cambridge and Heidelberg universities have announced a major project to digitize medieval manuscripts.

Cambridge University Library, 12 Cambridge colleges, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Heidelberg University Library and the Vatican Library have teamed up as part of a two-year £1.6m project, funded by the Polonsky Foundation to digitize more than 800 medieval manuscripts. Once digitized the Cambridge manuscripts will become freely available online on Cambridge Digital Library.
