“Nadezhda” to present the Presidential Library to the APEC member states

September 14, 2011a training sail ship "Nadezhda" (“Hope”) designed to provide social, economic and cultural achievements of Russia to countries in the Asia-Pacific region set off from Vladivostok to a Pacific campaign.

Within a year the sailboat will visit the ports of the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. During the moorages, foreign visitors will be offered scientific, cultural and educational activities on board of the vessel. Among them is the presentation of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.

Guests of "Nadezhda" will learn about the establishment of the first national electronic library in Russia, its holdings development, collections and projects. Provided technical support, visitors from all over the world will have access to the resources of the Presidential Library from specially equipped workstations on board of the sailboat.

The pacific expedition of a sailing training ship “Nadezhda” has been organized under the Russian Federation Government Decree of 7 July 2011. It is timed to the forthcoming APEC summit to open in Vladivostok in 2012.
