Book publishing abroad: Armenia hosts the scientific applied seminar on preservation of manuscript and printed heritage

From October 7-11, 2012, within the framework of events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Armenian book printing and proclamation of Yerevan of the World Book Capital, at the Research Institute of Ancient Manuscripts of Mesrop Mashtots "Matenadaran" passes the II International Scientific and Applied Seminar "Types of memory. The latest technologies for conservation and restoration of manuscripts and printed heritage" and regional thematic session of UNESCO / ICOM "Preventive conservation - a major factor of preservation of museum collections: a collection of manuscripts".

In the framework of these programs are held lectures, workshops and round tables by authoritative experts from leading museums, libraries, archival institutions, restoration centers of the CIS countries, the Baltic States, Europe.

Topical issues of the major areas of preservation of manuscript and printed heritage (restoration work in the collections, digitization) and their solutions will be discussed. A joint roundtable of two projects participants on the theme "Matenadaran - basic organization in the preservation of the written heritage" is also planned.
