The Presidential Library: Concept of cataloguing digital copies of resources published on the website

On the Presidential Library’s website under the heading “Methodological work” – “Development and Processing of digital content” – “Methodological materials on cataloguing digital content” has been published The Concept of cataloguing digital copies of resources in the Joint catalogue of digital resources. The concept of cataloguing includes:

- Determination of the cataloguing object;

- Development of principles of creation of a bibliographic record of digital copy in the Joint Catalogue;

- Determination of type of the catalogued object, of structure and components of bibliographic record;

- Determination of minimal and maximal set of elements of data for describing digital copies in the Joint Catalogue;

The object of description is a digital/electronic copy of the original resource. The Concept was developed within the joint project of the Presidential Library and LIBNET Center. The Russian State Library, the National Library of Russia, the Belgorod State Universal Scientific Library, the M. Gorky Regional Universal Scientific Library of Vladimir, the M. Gorky Regional Universal Scientific Library of Tver also contribute to the project.

The section also includes  templates of bibliographic records for digital copies of various types of resources (books, notes, cartographic materials, graphic materials, audio records, films, video recordings).
