Information technology and libraries: The 2nd All-Russian Contest of Library Innovation started

From 1 July to 15 October 2015 is held the 2nd All-Russian contest of library innovation, which was initiated by the Russian State Library and is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Russian Library Association (Section on Library Management and Marketing).

The first such contest was held in 2013, attracted the attention of about 100 participants and found a lot of good ideas and successful projects.

The current contest will continue to identify the best innovative practices of Russian libraries and will promote the unification of the professional library community in the pursuit of the development of scientific creativity and innovation.

The contest welcomes libraries of any type of ownership and departmental affiliation. To participate in the contest is necessary to fill out the application in the prescribed form and register online at the Russian State Library (a form of registration will be open from July 15, 2015).

Applications submitted to the contest will get professional expertise and will be appreciated by the authoritative jury.

Summing up the results of the contest and announcement of winners will take place at the annual meeting of directors of federal and regional libraries of Russia (St. Petersburg, October 2015). The winners will be awarded at a special event at the IV St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum (December 14-16, 2015).
