President of Russia: Vladimir Putin signed a decree “On creation of the fund “History of the Fatherland”

April 6, 2016 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a Decree on the establishment of the fund, "History of the Fatherland".

The fund was established to promote the Russian history in the country and abroad, the preservation of historical heritage and traditions of the peoples of Russia, the support for historical education programs.

The document says that the founder of the Fund will be the Government of Russia.

"The property fund is formed at the expense of budgetary allocations of the federal budget, voluntary property contributions and donations, and other sources in accordance with the Russian legislation", - stated in the decree.

The supreme collegial body of the fund will be its council, and should guide the work of the board, headed by the Executive Director. Chairman of the Fund and the board members will be appointed by the President of Russia.

The same decree, the President approved the composition of the board of the fund. The list includes eight people, including Chairman of the Board S. Naryshkin and President of the Faculty of History, Moscow State University Sergey Karpov, director of the State Historical Museum Aleksei Levykin, the director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences Nikolay Makarov, director of the Institute of Russian History Yuri Petrov, director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky.
