Culture and authority: The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of the Russian Cultural Foundation

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a Decree "On creation of the All-Russian social and state organization "Russian Cultural Foundation".

According to the document, the foundation is created "in order to consolidate the efforts of the state and civil society to create the conditions to encourage the population to creative self-realization, the preservation of cultural values, the revival of cultural traditions, to ensure popularization of Russian culture, the promotion of the cultural potential of the Russian Federation".

The founder of the foundation is the Ministry of Culture, the highest governing body is the conference which shall be convened by the decision of the Foundation Board. Chairman of the Board will be elected every six years on the proposal of the Ministry of Culture.

In addition, the President instructed the government to decide what property will depart the new organization, and to approve the order of its funding under the Ministry of Culture's budget.
