Exhibitions: New acquisitions 1996-2016 to the collection are exhibited at the Radishchev Museum in Saratov

March 24, 2017 in the Radishchev Museum (Saratov) was opened the exhibition "Preserving and multiplying… From the proceeds of 1996-2016", which is devoted to one of the most important functions of the museum - the scientific acquisition of funds. This is a kind of a result of museum gathering for the last 20 years. 

During this period, 6,508 subjects entered the Radischev Museum, including: painting - 840, graphics – 2 243, sculptures - 54, arts and crafts - 379, rare books - 2, archival documents and materials – 2 990.

The works were transferred by the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR and the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Saratov region, purchased from authors and heirs, received as a gift. 

The exhibition presents about 500 objects of painting, graphics, sculpture, arts and crafts, a rare book, archival documents and materials. The time range of works - from the XVII to the XXI century.

In the large exhibition space, which starts from the ground floor and the grand staircase of the museum, the monuments of the old classical art, the realistic trend of the 1930s-1980s, works of painting, drawing and sculpture of various trends and trends of contemporary art of the late XX - early XXI centuries are united. In the halls are exhibited items of Russian cult art, products of decorative and applied art from silver, porcelain, glass, enamel, majolica, chamotte, as well as rare books, unique archival photo documents and materials.

The exhibition gives a vivid idea of the museum's work on replenishing its collection, about the conceptual and scientifically sound procurement policy of the Radishchev Museum, about the support of donors and patrons of art.
