The activities of the police to ensure the protection of public order during the siege, the fight of the NKVD of the USSR against enemy sabotage, reconnaissance and subversive activities, the heroism and feat of law enforcement officers in besieged Leningrad, as well as counteraction to modern attempts to falsify history were discussed at the round table “Current issues in the history of the siege Leningrad".

The round table was attended by teachers of the Tyumen Institute for Advanced Training of Employees (TIPC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, head of the institute’s library Tatyana Silina, chief bibliographer of the branch of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library in Tyumen Region Natalya Kuznetsova and students of the TIPC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Participants learned about the exhibition “80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege”, as well as with unique archival materials from the Presidential Library's collections.

Scientific reports were devoted to the topics of the protection of besieged Leningrad by police officers, the peculiarities of the fight against crime in a besieged city, the organization of evacuation of the population and the work of factory enterprises during the siege. Scientific research has once again shown the fortitude and indestructible will of the Soviet people to win.

When discussing presentations and materials, participants asked questions and shared opinions, which allowed for a more in-depth study of various aspects of the proposed topics. The event contributed to the activation of the cognitive skills of listeners, the updating of knowledge on the history of the Great Patriotic War and internal affairs bodies, countering the falsification of Russian history, preserving and strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.
