Electronic Exhibition timed to the 75th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Region

24 September 2012

These days the Presidential Library is featuring "The Novosibirsk Region: Pages of History" electronic exposition. Materials for the exhibition have been prepared by specialists of the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, under the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk region.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of one of the largest scientific and cultural centers of Russia – the Novosibirsk Region, which is celebrated on September 28. Plasma panels at the ground floor present the process of foundation of the first cities, the historical figures who contributed to the birth of the region, and prominent figures of our time. Efficiently developing cities are also presented, including the capital of the region - Novosibirsk.

A particular feature of the exhibition is the connection of history and modernity. Alongside photos of Novosibirsk today there are images of the early twentieth century and even earlier ones. For example, "Prayer at the laying of the Ob Bridge" dates to 1893. Here you can see the way Red Avenue, the central street of Novosibirsk, looked like in 1913

The exposition is available to readers and visitors of the Presidential Library on plasma panels of the ground floor. The exhibition will run through 1 October 2012.

The Novosibirsk Regional Center of access to the resources of the Presidential Library opened in November 2011 on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library.
