 
  Cinema Club of the Presidential Library
      Within the VII International Festival "World of Knowledge" which opened in St. Petersburg October 26, the Presidential Library presented the project of its own cinema club. The first film, "Leningradka" shown within the project, is devoted to Olga Bergholz.
The film was presented by its director, Lyudmila Shakht. "New viewing format provided by the Presidential Library, would please Olga Fedorovna. She lived for the future, was interested by everything," she noted in her speech.
According to viewers, Olga Bergholz with her poetry, her voice "united individuals into the people." The image of the muse of the besieged Leningrad is related to the thematic year of the Presidential Library, "The Russian people." It has a lot in common with the newsreel of besieged Leningrad held in the library, with its activities to study in full and to popularize historical archival documents.
The partner of the cinema club was "Lennauchfilm" film studio, whose director, Anton Smirnov, said that the demonstration of new and well-known popular science films, documentaries, newsreels at the Presidential Library will be the continuation of the Festival "World of Knowledge" during the year.
The Presidential Library is a powerful multimedia complex, which has no analogues in Russia. It allows to display and support a broad debate about the films in the "look and discuss" mode. The dialogue about new popular science films, actual movies of previous years will be joined by regions and the Internet audience.
The next film to be demonstrated, whose premiere will be held in the Presidential Library Cinema Club will be "Eternal time of Alexander Nevsky" (written and directed by Peter Soldatenkov, 39 min., 2012).
In addition to "Lennauchfilm" movies it is planned to demonstrate unique newsreel granted to the Presidential Library by the Central Archive of Films and Photos, and by Gosfilmofond. There will be meetings with the documentary film makers.
The Presidential Library is also shooting a lot of movies itself: in 2009, there were created more than 20 educational, historical, training films, including those that were made on the basis of the exhibitions held by the library.
