The Presidential Library intends to open its reading room on the basis of the ROSPHOTO Center

An electronic reading room of the Presidential Library will be set up on the basis of the ROSPHOTO Center. This was announced during the section on the preservation, restoration and use of audio-visual and photographic documents in the digital environment. The event was held in the Presidential Library within the framework of the Legal Forum.

This is not the first experience of cooperation between the two cultural institutions. The Presidential Library and the ROSPHOTO State Museum and Exhibition Center already have solid partnership relations in digitizing funds, preserving them and on its further development.

It is planed to open in the future the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library on the basis of the center. So, its visitors will get an access to such unique information resources as electronic copies of archival and museum documents, rare book editions, documentary newsreels on the history of Russian statehood, making overall more than 500 thousand items.

The legal forum has already become a traditional event of the Presidential Library. Annually, in the focus of its discussions are the issues of systematization of the legislation on information, information technologies and on information protection, and the legislation on library business, as well as the issues related to the integration of informational resources in the electronic environment.
