New additions to Presidential Library's collection: "People and Masks" by Korney Chukovsky

The Presidential Library portal features a rare edition – Korney Chukovsky's book People and Masks, published by the St. Petersburg publishing house Shipovnik in 1914. During the Soviet era, this book was not republished, as Chukovsky's view of the poets and writers who became the heroes of his essays was too unconventional, sharp and topical.

The history of this holiday began in 1939 with a decree by the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR establishing All-Union Physical Culture Day.
