On 18 June 2025, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library hosted a landmark event as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) - a roundtable discussion on "Materialisation of the Sovereign Digital Footprint".
The roundtable discussed key aspects of digitalisation of archival activities and historical science. Among them: formation of digital archival data, preservation of documents in the digital environment, legal regulation of digital heritage, scientific and historical and cultural value of electronic documents, problems of electronic copies and traditional sources, prospects for cooperation between historians, archivists and IT-specialists, and many others.
