Online project «Republika Srpska»

The joint online project of the Presidential Library, the Representative Offices of the Republika Srpska in the Russian Federation and the Institute of Historical Sciences in East Sarajevo is dedicated to the history of the Republika Srpska, its natural beauties and cultural sights. Its goal is to contribute to the further development of friendly and fraternal Russian-Serbian relations.

The project is available in Russian and Serbian languages. It consists of several chapters on the centuries-long history of the Serbian people in what is now Bosnia and Herzegovina. Particular attention is paid to the periods of the establishment of Republika Srpska, the struggle for sovereignty and international recognition. It is emphasised that Republika Srpska was able to withstand military attacks by NATO countries, although it suffered significant losses in the process.

In the post-war period, despite the burden of international pressure, Republika Srpska experienced a period of rapid development. This process is presented in the exhibition in a series of photographs. Of particular note are the documents - authentic testimonies of the events of the past years.

A significant part of the exposition consists of sections dedicated to the natural beauties of Republika Srpska, objects of cultural and historical significance, which are also the most important tourist attractions in the region.
