The Presidential Library to host a video lecture dedicated to the Council Code

12 February 2024

On February 12, 2024 at 14:00 (Moscow time) the Presidential Library as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia will tell about the Council Code - a set of laws of the Russian state, adopted by the Zemsky Sobor in 1649 and valid until 1832. This year the monument to Russian law turns 375 years old. 

The Pushkins’ family values to discuss at the Presidential Library's conference

The annual conference and webinar “Alexander Pushkin Memorial Day in the Presidential Library” will be held on February 9, 2024 at 10:00 at Senate Square, 3. The event is dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian poet, which will be celebrated this year, and is held as part of the Year of the Family, declared by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On February 8, 2024 at 11:00 (Moscow time) on the Day of Russian Science, the Presidential Library will host a lecture “Science and industry - these are my dreams” as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia. The event is dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the encyclopedist scientist Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev (1834–1907), who distinguished himself in such scientific fields as chemistry, physics, metrology, economics, and instrument making.

The Presidential Library to portray the historian Valentina Chernukha

On January 31, 2024 at 11:00 Moscow time the Presidential Library, as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia will host a lecture dedicated to Valentina Grigorievna Chernukha (1930–2014) - a prominent Russian historian who made a significant contribution to the study of the internal politics of the Russian Empire in the second half XIX century.

“Studio in the Shelling Square”: The Presidential Library features a new documentary film screening

26 January 2024

On January 26, 2024 at 14:00, as part of the Presidential Library’s cinema club meeting, a screening and discussion of the new documentary film “Studio in the Shelling Square” will take place. The film has been created at the Prosveshcheniye studio. The scriptwriter and director of the film is Lyudmila Shakht, producer is Lyudmila Leontyeva. The plot tells about the life of the besieged city, captured on tens of thousands of meters of newsreels.
