On March 6, 2019 the Yasnaya Polyana Gallery (Tula) is staging a new exhibition “Sophia Tolstaya – Wife of the Genius”. The exhibition is dedicated to the 175th birth anniversary and the centenary of death of Sophia Tolstaya – Leo Tolstoy’s wife (1844-1919).

The virtual branch of the State Russian Museum has been opened in Rzhev, Tver Region. The Rzhev Exhibition Hall has become the 210th member of “The Virtual Russian Museum” project.

The Russian State Library’s Printed Music and Sound Recordings Department, Concert Hall (Moscow) presents an exhibition of printed music “Oh, Women, You are a Crown of Creation!”, which highlights the theme of spring, sun, love and beautiful women. On display are romances and plays from the collection of printed music and sound recordings, which have become a kind of a musical story about women’s life. The exhibition will be open until March 20.

The Mikhailovsky Palace, Hall No. 54 (The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg) presents a new exposition of historical paintings. Instead of the famous painting by I. Repin “Ceremonial Meeting of the State Council ...”, which is currently on display in the Tretyakov Gallery, visitors will have a chance to see pictures by artists of the 2nd half of the 19th century, which spotlight the history of pre-Petrine Russia. Earlier these works were rarely displayed as part of temporary exhibitions....

Vita Nova publishing house presents the exhibition “Many-sided Personality of Dostoyevsky”, which will run in the Dostoyevsky Museum in St. Petersburg from March 12 to March 31, 2019.

A large-scale exhibition of works by Ilya Repin (1844–1930) will present a modern interpretation of the great painter’s art. The best works of the master, created from the early 1870s to the end of the 1920s, will be on display in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow from March 16 to August 18, 2019.

A new exhibition “Crimea in the Works by A. I. Kuindzhi” will open on March 22, 2019 in the Garden Vestibule of the Mikhailovsky Palace (The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg). It showcases selected canvases by Kuindzhi dedicated to nature in Crimea.

March 20, 2019 the Russian Cultural Center (RCC) in Beijing hosted comprehensive event dedicated to Russian folk crafts for the students of the Chinese University of Communication, studying the Russian language.

On March 27, 2019 the Russian Museum of Ethnography (St. Petersburg) is presenting a new exhibition “The Gold of the Inca Empire. God. Power. Eternity. 2000 Years of the Great Civilization”. The exposition is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Peru. On April 23, 2019 at 11:00, the third lecture from the cycle devoted to the life and career of Fyodor Dostoevsky will be held at the Presidential Library within the framework of the Knowledge of Russia video lecture. The topic of the current meeting is “The search for the main character of the Dostoevsky’s novel “Idiot” on the basis of the writer's rough copies”.

The grand opening of the bronze bust of the first cosmonaut in the world, Yuri Gagarin, took place in King Mihai I of Romania (Herastreu) Bucharest Park. The event was attended by the staff of the Russian Embassy in Romania and the Russian Center of Science and Culture, the Romanian cosmonaut Dumitru Prunariu, representatives of city authorities and local residents.

Library in the Digital Environment: Development Trends”. The сonference is dedicated to 80th anniversary of the birth of its founder — prominent Soviet and Russian library professional, PhD in Pedagogy, Professor Viktor Skvortsov (1939–2005).

A book exhibition under the title “Nikolai Bogoslovsky – Founder of the Novgorod Antiquities Museum (Marking 195th Anniversary of Birth)” is opening in the Novgorod Regional Universal Research Library (Local History Department).
