On October 31, 2019 the Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art, which is named after the great icon painter Andrei Rublev, is opening an exhibition that showcases a work from Andrei Rublev’s epoch – the Holy Doors dating from the first half of the 15th century, which were part of an iconostasis of an unknown large church.

The 18th Orthodox Russia – Marking the National Unity Day Church and Public Exhibition and Forum will be held from November 4 to December 8, 2019 at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow.

The 13th International Peter the Great Congress “Russia and Germany During the Epoch of Peter the Great: Historical and Cultural Relations” will be held October 24-25, 2019 in Berlin. The opening ceremony of the congress will take place on October 24 at the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin.

The exhibition “Private Libraries of Russian Estates” will be open in the State Museum of the History of Religion (St. Petersburg) until November 24, 2019.

Developers of Discover Moscow portal have created a special map, which features favourite places of Mikhail Lermontov. It is designed to help poetry lovers take an unusual walk. This unguided tour was presented in commemoration of the 205th anniversary of the poet’s birth, which was celebrated on October 15.

The main purpose of the Creative Laboratory for digitizing documents of the Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library is to create electronic resources in the libraries of the region. The Claire Sverdlovsk Regional Local History Museum presents an exhibition, which marks the 140th anniversary of birth of writer Pavel Bazhov. This event is held within the Year of Bazhov in Sverdlovsk Region.

On February 12, 2019 at 11:00 am the Presidential Library will host the Knowledge of Russia video lecture on “Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev: Man and Scientist” dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the encyclopedic scientist and the 150th anniversary of the Periodic table created by him.

The exhibition “Icons from the Collection of the Yaroslavl Art Museum” is opening on February 12, 2019 in the New Exhibition Hall of the State Historical Museum (Moscow). The exhibition showcases saved icons of the 16th — early 20th cc. from the ruined churches of Yaroslavl. There are 36 icons which date from 16th — early 20th cc. Many of the exhibits have never been displayed before. The exhibition will be open through May 31, 2019.

The Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve, Kolomenskoye Peasant Estate, presents an exhibition “Decor of Peasant Houses of Kolomenskoye Village in the 19th–mid-20th c.: Carpentry and Carving”. The 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege is marked in 2019. Moreover, this year marks 45 years since the publication of Leningrad Under Siege (A Book of the Blockade) and the centenary of the birth of its author – Daniil Granin. An exhibition, organized by the Daniil Granin Foundation and the Museum of the Political History of Russia that will kick off in the museum on September 7, 2019 will spotlight this commemorative dates.

On April 18, 2019 the St. Isaac’s Cathedral State Museum in St. Petersburg is presenting an exhibition of lithographs on loan from the Izborsk State Historical-Architectural, Landscape and Natural Museum Reserve under the title “Created in Besieged Leningrad. Exhibition of Yu. P. Spegalsky’s Lithographs”.

April 10, 2019 at 13:00 the Presidential Library will open an exhibition of multimedia works of students and graduates of the "Art" direction of St. Petersburg State University. After the presentation, the guests will be presented documentary and animated mini-films about the French composer Eric Sati, opera singer Galina Vishnevskaya, the works of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt, as well as films devoted to the Northern capital.
