An exhibition of landscapes by French artists, who practiced plein-air painting in parks and estates in Russia, is presented in the Château d'Ainay-le-Vieil - a medieval castle in Cher, France. The exhibition will be open for two weeks. The castle has become the third venue for the display of paintings.

A meeting of the Regional Pedagogical Council “National Project “Education”: Strategy for the Future” will take place on August 20, 2019, at 12 midday, in the Presidential Library (St. Petersburg, Senate Square, 3).

The State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow) presents the exhibition “In the Shadow of Mountain Tops: Mountain Peoples of Afghanistan”, which spotlights the ancient culture of mountain peoples, who inhabit present-day Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan.

The 125th anniversary of Anastasia Tsvetaeva’s birth is marked this year. On August 20, 2019 the Tsvetaeva House Museum in Moscow is presenting the exhibition “The Many Faces of Asya”: Character, Life and Work of Anastasia Tsvetaeva”. It is dedicated to this wonderful person: sister of the great poet, talented writer, memoirist, “witness of the century”, a fragile but strong-willed woman, who showed enormous strength of character in times of hardship.

Next year 4.7 million roubles will be allocated to Novgorod Region for the foundation of virtual concert halls. Applications from 6 towns of the region have become winners of the contest, which was held as part of the “Culture” national project. Multimedia equipment will be installed in Borovichi, Malaya Vishera, Okulovka, Soltsy, Staraya Russa and Valdai.

The Gorky Perm Regional Library presents the travelling photo exhibition “Thomas Mann. Life of the Great Writer”. It is dedicated to the upcoming 145th anniversary of the birth of the Nobel laureate, which will be marked next year. The exhibition is organized by the Heinrich and Thomas Mann Center at the Buddenbrook House in Lübeck (Germany) and the Goethe Institut (the German Cultural Center).

On September 28, 2019 the Ostafyevo State Museum Estate (Moscow, Ostafyevo) is mounting The War and Peace Historical Festival. Held for the first time the festival is dedicated to the classical period of the Russian history and culture – the first half of the 19th century.

September 27, 2019 the Slovtsov Museum Complex (Tyumen) opens the exhibition “Relics and Masterpieces. The collections of the State Historical Museum”. There are about 400 exhibits on display, which spotlight fun activities — booths, knuckle fighting and downhill sledging, as well as new ones — firework displays, promenades, circuses, cinema. “Archaeology of Fun” section features artifacts of the Stone Age, the Bronze Age, antiquity and the Middle...

The Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts is hosting the exhibition “A Joy for All Senses”. 16th-19th-Century Western European Still Lifes from the Collection of the State Hermitage”. The exhibition is devoted to one of the most interesting genres in painting – the still life – and showcases more than forty works from the 16th–19th centuries representing leading schools of Western European art: Flemish, Dutch, Italian, German and French. The exhibition will be open until January 19, 2020.
