On October 2, 2019 the State Tretyakov Gallery (Engineering Building) in Moscow is mounting the exhibition “Konstantin Istomin. Colour Through the Window”.

On October 4, 2019 at 3 p.m. the Presidential Library will hold the Cinema Club meeting dedicated to the World Animal Day. On this day the audience will meet with Pavel Glazkov, a naturalist, PhD in Biology, who runs “Two of Every Kind” video blog, which is about animals living in Leningrad region. His motto is love for nature through learning. The program features four film premieres.

On October 3–4, 2019 the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Federal Chancellery and the Ministry for Family Affairs, Women, and Youth of the Republic of Austria are holding the Russian-Austrian Youth Creative Forum in Vienna. The event has brought together young culture professionals, artists and students of the arts universities from Russia and Austria. The program includes presentation sessions, roundtable discussions and workshops.

The exhibition center of the Murom Museum of History and Art presents the exhibition of lubki prints from the museum’s collection.

On October 4, 2019 the Novgorod Museum-Reserve (Main Building) presented the exhibition “Russian Nobleman from Novgorod. Marking the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of Count A. A. Arakcheev”. On display there are about 120 exhibits connected with Count Arakcheev primarily from the Gruzino estate: objects of decorative and applied art; pieces of vestments from the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Gruzino; relics associated with Emperor Alexander I, which were housed at the estate; utensils, paintings,...

September 25, 2019, in the Republic of Buryatia, in the Republican Children’s and Youth Library, was held the opening of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library.

A concert dedicated to the Teachers’ Day will be held at the Presidential Library on October 12, 2019 at 5 p.m. The performance of the brilliant Italian pianist Andrea Bacchetti will be a wonderful gift for all guests, and the performance of the opera arias of the Mariinsky Theater soloists Vyacheslav Kozlovsky as well as Inara Kozlovskaya will also impress the audience.

The Travel Palace has opened its doors after restoration at the village of Korostyn, Shimsky District of Novgorod Region. It now houses the Museum and Cultural Center of the Novgorod State Art Museum.

On October 9, 2019 Vittore Carpaccio’s work Two Venetian Ladies was put on display in the Italian Cabinet of the New Hermitage. This is one of the most famous paintings in the collection of the Museo Correr (Fondazione Musei Civici Venezia). There are no paintings by Vittore Carpaccio in Russian museums (the exhibition features a drawing by Carpaccio from the Hermitage Museum). There are few works of painting outside of Venice – the city where the artist spent almost his entire life.

In 2019 the Presidential Library for the tenth time holds an interactive Olympiad on Russian Language, History and Social Studies “Russia in the Electronic World” for pupils of educational institutions. The Olympiad is intended for pupils of 10-11 grades and secondary vocational schools. The event consists of three stages, two of which each can be done remotely online.

The Presidential Library’s collections have been added with the digital copies from regional sources.

The unveiling ceremony for the monument to the poet Alexander Pushkin took place in Brest.

The Military Historical Museum of the Artillery, Engineering and Signal Corps (St. Petersburg) presents a new permanent exposition under the title "History of the Cadet Education in Russia in the 18th-19th Centuries". It is dedicated to the establishment and development of the primary military education in our country.

On October 15, 2019 the German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst is hosting the International Conference “Granin and Germany. Thorny Way to Reconciliation” in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of the prominent Soviet writer Daniil Granin. The conference is part of the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture within the Russian Seasons in Germany.

From October 16 to 20, 2019, the Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) is taking place from October 16-20, 2019 in Germany.

Until December 31, 2019 the exhibition "On both sides of the century: Novorossiysk, early XX century - Novorossiysk, XXI century" is exhibited in the Novorossiysk Historical Museum-Reserve. The exhibition is a continuation of the 2018 project “Life in the City N” from the cycle “leafing through the last page”. Visitors to the exhibition will again be able to feel the atmosphere of the provincial Novorossiysk of the early XX century and compare the appearance of the old city with the modern look.

The Annual Meeting of Heads of Federal and Central Regional Libraries of Russia will be held on October 22–23, 2019 in Moscow. The meeting is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library and the National Library of Russia.

On October 22, 2019 at 4 p.m. the Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg Heritage and Prospect Foundation invite viewers to the regular meeting of the cinema club on Senate Square, 3 dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding Russian composer Valery Gavrilin. The program includes a screening of the film by Dmitry Chernetsov “Valery Gavrilin. Everything in life is music”.

In spring the State Hermitage Museum will stage an exhibition dedicated to the ancient city of Al Ula, which was located on the territory of present-day Saudi Arabia, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Hermitage Museum, announced after the inauguration of the exhibition “Culture of Russia in Riyadh”.

In October and November 2019, the Kultura.RF portal will hold 75 live broadcasts of cultural events from all over Russia. Visitors to the portal will be able to see online the popular performances of Moscow theaters, music evenings and concerts, lectures and excursions, as well as many other unique events.

Exhibition “Akhmatova. You are one of my doubles... ” is opened on October 20, 2019 at the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House (St. Petersburg) marking the 130th anniversary of the poet.

The Presidential Library invites viewers to the cinema club meeting, where the IV International St. Petersburg Biennale of Children's Creativity “Letter. Word. Book - 2019” dedicated to the Year of the Theater in Russia will be held on October 16, 2019 at 4 p.m. The event will be open with a slide show about the winners of the multimedia nomination of the previous years’ contest, and then the films of this year will be watched and the children will be awarded.

On August 6, 2019 the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Reserve is presenting the exhibition “A Year Before the Great Victory. Sevastopol-1944”. It is co-organized by the Sevastopol Military and Historical Museum-Reserve with the support of the Volgograd regional branch of the Russian Military and Historical Society. It is devoted to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders by the Soviet troops.

The Zagorye Gallery (Moscow) presents the exhibition “The Industrial World in the Photographs of Alexander Rodchenko” from the collection of the Multimedia Art Museum. Visitors will have an opportunity to see over 80 photographs of the artist and graphic designer. They include photographs of buildings designed by Soviet architects, reports on the construction of the White Sea-Baltic Canal, and photo collages.
