Marking the 75th Anniversary of the Great Victory: Russian State Library to reconstruct the war-time reading hall

The Russian State Library is developing three new projects marking the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. One is a reconstruction of a fragment of the war-time reading hall.
"The Great Patriotic War Library" project will feature the atmosphere of wartime in the reading room. To arrange the new exposition, the Russian State Library and the Victory Museum have already digitized more than 500 documents - leaflets, books, brochures, posters, and other materials.

By answering questions, users will learn interesting facts about the widening of Tverskaya Street, the famous moving of houses along with residents, as well as the history of the Kitay-Gorod Wall.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection "Sergius of Radonezh (about 1314–1392)", which contains rare editions, including annals of the life and deeds of the hieromonk, images of the saint and monuments to him, materials dedicated to the Trinity Sergius Lavra and much more.

January 29, 2020, marks the 160th anniversary of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, one of the most popular Russian writers. The specialists of the Presidential Library prepared a new large collection “Anton Chekhov (1860–1904)”, which features different aspects of the writer’s personality, life, and work. The collection includes digital copies of rare books, periodicals and archival documents, postcards, and photographs, as well as the texts of his oeuvres, articles, and letters.
