Peter I’s Poltava speech: truth and fiction

On July 8 (June 27, old style), 1709, Peter I delivered his famous speech on the Poltava field. This speech preceded one of the most important battles in the history of the Northern War - the battle with the Swedish army under the command of Charles XII. Rare materials testifying to this period of Russian history are available in the Poltava section of the Peter I collection, prepared by the Presidential Library to mark the anniversary of the first Russian emperor.

The Presidential Library told about the first Soviet comics

On July 5, 2022 the Presidential Library hosted a video lecture entitled "The First Soviet Comics" as part of the cultural and educational project Knowledge of Russia. The event, organized by the Presidential Library and the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Belgrade, completed the cycle of three lectures "Russian comics".

New documents entered the Collection of digitized archival documents, film and photo materials dedicated to World War II

On July 1, 2022 resolutions and orders of the USSR State Defenсe Committee (GKO USSR) №№ 501-1000 from August 16 to December 7, 1941 from the collections of the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History (RGASPI) entered the Collection of Digitized Archival Documents, Film and Photo Materials dedicated to World War II, which is available on the Presidential Library’s portal.

Nevsky Forum opened at the Presidential Library

The VI International Nevsky Forum will be held in St. Petersburg from June 23-25, 2022. The main day of the event - June 24 - will be held at the Presidential Library. It will include the official opening of the forum and a panel session.
