July 7, 2021, the Presidential Library hosted a video lecture entitled The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky in the Light of the Axiology of Happiness within the framework of the Knowledge of Russia project. The event was the fifth in a series of lectures "Fyodor Dostoevsky – a Talk about Values" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the world-famous writer, which will be celebrated on November 11, 2021.

July 6, 2021, marks the 225th anniversary of Nicholas I. Making this anniversary, the Presidential Library's portal releases an updated and significantly improved collection of materials devoted to the Emperor. It comprises rare and ancient editions, as well as modern research, biographical essays and memoirs of contemporaries, Emperor's private correspondence and memoirs. They promote a new view on the personality of Emperor Nicholas.
The way the preferences of Russian emperors changed the face of Tsarskoe Selo
July 5, 2021 marks the 311th anniversary of the foundation of Tsarskoe Selo, now a city named after Pushkin. The Presidential Library’s materials presented on Presidential Library’s portal illustrate the way the summer residence of Russian emperors was built and developed, changing in accordance with their tastes.
The Presidential Library spotlights the Battle of Chesme
In 2021 the Russian fleet turns 325 years old. The Russian navy has won glorious victories more than once and one of them was the victory in the Battle of Chesme, which took place on July 5-7 (June 24-26 according to the old style) in 1770. More information about this battle is available on the Presidential Library's portal in the large-scale collection The House of Romanov. The Zemsky Sobor of 1613, which features historical research dedicated to the reign of Empress Catherine II.
Penza told about the "range" of regional centers of the Presidential Library
The Presidential Library takes part in the annual Interregional Round Table "Methodological Service of Regional Libraries in Modern Conditions", which is held on July 2-3, 2021 at the M. Yu. Lermontov Penza Regional Library. The event is also organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Penza Region and the Russian Library Association.
Veterans’ "instruction" underway at the Presidential Library’s multimedia exhibition
Multimedia exhibition "How few of them are left on earth..." dedicated to the veterans of Komi Republic will be open at the Presidential Library on June 21 to July 5, 2021. The exposition features their portraits, as well as short stories about wartime, the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War and the Great Victory Day.
Arctic Region in Russian literature and art spotlighted at the Presidential Library
July 1, 2021 the Presidential Library (Senate Square, 3) hosted the grand opening of the exhibition The Northern Route: The Arctic in Russian Literature and Art. The exposition tells about Russian writers, followed by artists and, already in the 20th century, filmmakers, to show in their works the peculiarities and traditions of the life of the peoples of the North, the exotic beauty and wealth of the Arctic, the ideas about this harsh land and its heroes.

On June 30, 2021 the Presidential Library, as one of the founders of the St. Petersburg Branch of the Russian Historical Society, took part in the annual general meeting of the Society. The event, which discussed the key goals, intentions and development strategy of the Russian Historical Society, was held in a mixed format - offline at the MGIMO University and online at Zoom.
