"Education for Virtue": the Presidential Library’s materials to spotlight the education and upbringing of Alexander II
April 29 (17) marks 203 years since the birth of the tsar, whose life and work are told by the historical materials presented in the collection Alexander II (1818-1881) available on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes biographical sketches, research works, memoirs and speeches of contemporaries dedicated to the sovereign, as well as rare photographs of the tsar and members of his family.
The Presidential Library’s video lecture marking Alexander Nevsky’s 800th anniversary
April 29, 2021 the Presidential Library, as part of the Knowledge of Russia project, hosted a video lecture entitled "Alexander Nevsky’s Historical Memory", timed to coincide with the 800th anniversary of the birth of the Faithful Saint Prince. His anniversary will be celebrated on May 13, 2021. The event spotlighted the personality of Alexander Nevsky and the peculiarities of the historical era he lived.

The Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg Chess Sports Federation: a new stage of cooperation
Cooperation agreement between the institution and the Regional Public Organization St. Petersburg Chess Sports Federation was signed at the Presidential Library on April 27, 2021. The document was signed by acting Director General of the Presidential Library Pavel Tereshchenko and Executive Director of the St. Petersburg Chess Sports Federation Vladimir Bykov.
New collection of the Presidential Library reveals unknown facts about the State Duma of the Russian Empire
115 years ago, in the spring of 1906, the most significant event in the social and political life of the Russian Empire took place. It was the elections to the State Duma - the first representative legislative body in the history of the state. There were four convocations of the State Duma. Two fist Dumas were dissolved by the imperial government. Despite everything, this institution worked until the fall of the monarchy.

The fate of the northern convoy BD-5 during the Great Patriotic War through the prism of one photograph
Vladimir Pushkarev’s photograph Chapel on Bely Island (Kara Sea) (2013), provided by the press service of the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, has been published on the Presidential Library's portal in Video Tours and Exhibitions section. It is attached with the audio file Point on the map - Bely Island; it was recorded at the Presidential Library. In the audio recording Pavel Yegorov, Candidate of Geological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Geology and Geoecology of the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia says that the chapel in memory of the BD-5 convoy died in the Kara Sea was built in 2012 on the initiative of one of the search expeditions.
Marking the 130th anniversary of Sergei Prokofiev: the musical film The Love for Three Oranges screened at the Presidential Library’s cinema club meeting
On April 23, 2021 marking the day of the 130th anniversary of the birth of composer Sergei Prokofiev the Presidential Library hosted a cinema club meeting dedicated to the composer. The musical film The Love for Three Oranges was screened at the event, which was held jointly with the St. Petersburg Institution Record Youth Center. The film was directed in 1970 by Viktor Titov and Yuri Bogatyrenko based on the opera of the same name by Sergei Prokofiev.
