Presidential Library marks Teacher's Day

5 October 2025

October 5 is Teacher's Day in Russia. This professional holiday was established 60 years ago, in 1965, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and was celebrated on the first Sunday of October. In 1994, UNESCO declared October 5 International Teachers' Day, and Russia began celebrating this professional holiday on that date.

Presidential Library's new electronic collection dedicated to 155th anniversary of Ivan Alekseyevich Bunin

155 years ago, on October 10 (October 22 according to the new calendar) 1870, Ivan Alekseevich Bunin was born – an outstanding writer, poet, and translator, the first Russian winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature (1933). His work was "removed" from literary circulation for many years due to his emigration—in the Soviet Union, the first collection of I. A. Bunin's works was published only in 1956.

Presidential Library participates in interregional conference in Abakan

The Presidential Library is participating in an interregional scientific and practical conference with international participation entitled "Libraries in the Age of Digital Transformation: Opportunities and Prospects." The conference is being held in the capital of Khakassia from October 1 to 3, 2025, and is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the N. G. Domozhakov National Library.
