The Year of Theatre in Russia 2019: Rare photographs spotlighting the history of Russian theatres on display within TASS photo exhibition in St. Petersburg

Rare photographs capturing vivid fragments of the history of Russian theatres have been put on display as part of the TASS photo exhibition “Photo Highlights. Theatre”, which was opened in the lobby of the Mariinsky Theatre (New Stage).

The first exhibition as part of this series was mounted on January 18 in the building of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok. Works by TASS photojournalists were shown in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz and Syktyvkar. The current exhibition in St. Petersburg – the final one within this tour - will be open until December 15. Participants and guests at the 8th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum will have an opportunity to visit the exhibition in November.
