Memory of Russia: Fifty military and historical museums expected to appear at Moscow’s schools in 2011

Around fifty military and historical museums will be opened at schools of Moscow timed to celebration of 70th anniversary of the Battle of Moscow December 5.

– As for today 1564 certified museums are operating at Moscow’s schools, 747 of them are focused on military and historical subject, – said the Head of the Department of Education of Moscow City Isaak Kalina. In addition, 16 museums were opened in March, while 30 more museums are due to open to coincide with a victorious date.

The Head of the Department mentioned that pupils were currently exercising patronage over 547 burial places in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, while during this year this work brought together 17 500 pupils.

What is more, over 4 000 college students are constantly rendering targeted support for 1 178 Moscow’s veterans.
