The suspension of the X-XI century with personal sign of one of Rurik was discovered by archeologists while surveying the settlement Kleschin near Pleshcheev Lake in the vicinity of Pereslavl-Zallesky in the Yaroslavl region.

World History: Russian scientists have discovered a seal of Ecumenical Patriarch Athanasius I

Scientists of the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences have discovered a rare find. During the preparation works on restoration of the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Pereslavl Zalessky researchers found the personal seal of the Ecumenical Patriarch Athanasios I. The artifact will become a part of a regional museum exposition in Suzdal.

The Ministry of Culture of Russia is preparing a proposal regarding an assessment of two Russian cathedrals, belonging to the XII-XIII centuries, for adding these to an amount of the most valuable ones for consideration for their submission to UNESCO and inclusion into the World Heritage List.
