Libraries and Society: The first in the capital library of crafts was opened at VDNKh

A new library is located in the 47th pavilion of VDNkH. Now it houses the House of Crafts. Hence the name of the reading room. It collected more than one and a half thousand specialized books and magazines, one way or another devoted to a particular craft. The "First Reserve of Wooden Architecture" exhibition spotlights decoration of Russian peasant huts and royal palaces, as well as extant monuments of ancient architectural woodcarving. It runs from August 8 to October 18 in pavilion 67 of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy.

A new useful function appeared on the portal of the libraries of Moscow "Bibliogorod". On the interactive map you can now find the libraries of the Moscow Department of Culture, which contain publications in 13 popular foreign languages. English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, as well as Chinese and Japanese are among them. A total of 37 reading rooms are displayed on the map.

The exposition presents photos from the funds of the Central State Archive of Moscow, telling about the festive events of the 800th and 850th anniversary of the capital.
