The attitude of contemporaries towards Alexandra Feodorovna, the last Russian empress, was complex. Some people saw her as overbearing and arrogant, while others viewed her as shy and quiet. They laughed at the fact that only girls were born in the imperial family instead of an expected heir. Some sympathized and pitied Alexandra, while others accused her of having too much influence over Nicholas II.

For forty years Maria Gavrilovna Savina (1854–1915) shone on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. She devoted most of her life to the theater, living in the theater and for the theater. The Presidential Library's collections feature numerous documents, letters, biographical sketches and photographs of the actress, including the unique photo album “Honored Artist of the Imperial Russian Drama Troupe M. G. Savina. Thirty-five years on the Imperial stage" (1909).

October 19, 1811 is held the opening day of the Imperial Lyceum in Tsarskoye Selo, the educational institution, which taught Alexander Pushkin, Wilhelm Küchelbecker, Jacov Grot, Mikhail Saltykov-Schedrin and many other prominent figures of Russia. In honor of the foundation of the Lyceum, its famous pupils, brilliant pages of the past and with the hope for the future of Russia it was conceived and annually held the International Lyceum Festival “The Tsarskoye Selo Autumn”.

The electronic collection of the Presidential Library has been enriched with the correspondence of Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich Romanov (1859–1919), historian, entomologist, public figure, and honorary member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences. He was also the chairman of the Imperial Russian Historical Society, the Imperial Geographical Society, and the Society for the Protection and Preservation of Monuments of Art and Antiquity.
