255th anniversary of Russian Navy Commander Ivan Fyodorovich Kruzenstern (1770-1846), an outstanding navigator, a prominent figure in the Russian Navy, admiral, leader of the first Russian circumnavigation expedition of 1803-1806, and director of the Naval Cadet Corps, will be marked in 2025.

The exhibition "Monuments of Book Culture: From Print to Digital" was launched on October 23, 2019 in the historical building of the Synod (Senate Square, 3). The exposition is based on publications from the collections of the Presidential Library, which included books (about two and a half thousand) of the 16th – 20th centuries. The publications were acquired by VTB Bank at Christie’s auction and donated to the Presidential Library in May 2009 at the opening ceremony of the institution....

79 years ago, on September 8, 1941, Leningrad was surrounded by enemy troops. The fascist Siege, which lasted 872 days, began. The Presidential Library, together with the "Radio Rossii" (the primary public radio station in Russia) and the "Peterburgskiy Dnevnik" newspaper, held a large-scale campaign devoted to preserving the historical memory of the Siege of Leningrad of 1941–1944.
