This is what the majority of the city's population thinks", - Vasily Sokolov, a townsman, wrote to his family in the autumn of 1941 from the besieged Leningrad. 77 years ago on September 8, the city on the Neva was surrounded by invader troops and was cut off from the rest of the country.
