Database of fellow countrymen who participated in First World War created in Republic of Khakassia

The specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based at the N.G. Domozhakov National Library in Khakassia, Anna Kalyagina, Elena Krivonosova, Ivan Krivosheyev and Ivan Samsonov have developed a database called 1914-1918 that includes information about participants in the First World War from Khakassia.

On April 5, 2019 new volume from Pitirim Sorokin's Collected Works “The Crisis of Our Time. Russia and the United States” was donated to the Presidential Library by representatives of the Komi Republic. Sorokin was born on February 4, 1889 in the village of Turya, Yarensky district, Vologda province, which today is part of the Knyazhpogost district of Komi Republic.

In the library system of Novokuznetsk was launched the project "Let’s make history together". The project includes a series of measures to ensure open access of Novokuznetsk citizens to local history knowledge and documents, to get acquainted with famous Novokuznetsk residents, the project contributes to sustainable cultural development of Novokuznetsk, popularizing information about famous countrymen.

The Novosibirsk State Regional Scientific Library hosted a round table "Siberian Falcon: Preservation of the historical memory of Alexander Pokryshkin", timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary of the famous fellow countryman, Air Marshal, the first three times Hero of the Soviet Union.

Marking the anniversary of the famous Russian writer, actor and film director Vasily Makarovich Shukshin, which will be celebrated on July 25, 2019, the Kemerovo Regional Center of the Presidential Library has arranged a virtual exhibition “Having my Motherland in my Heart ...” dedicated to the life and work of a talented countryman. It is available on the YouTube Channel of the V. D. Fedorov Kemerovo Regional Research Library, as well as exhibiting on plasma panels in the library building.

Specialists of the Domozhakov National Library and the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library in Khakassia based on the library held a lesson of courage for the pupils of the summer camp of Boarding School No. 21 in Abakan. The children were told about the famous compatriot – Lieutenant General of Aviation, Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Gavrilovich Tikhonov. The event took place within the framework of the All-Russian military-patriotic campaign "Knowledge. Heroes".
