От имени ветеранов Великой Отечественной войны каждой команде вручили напутственное письмо и книгу «Военные истории Южного Урала». Мероприятие прошло при поддержке Челябинского регионального центра Президентской библиотеки.

On March 28, 1868 in Nizhny Novgorod a son Alexei was born into the family of cabinetmaker Maxim Peshkov. Left an orphan early and having gone through a harsh school of life, he was able to leave a deep mark on Russian literature of the 20th century. Under the pseudonym Maxim Gorky, he became one of the most famous Russian writers and thinkers in the world.

The multimedia exhibition “Postcards of Mercy”, opened on November 12, 2018 in the Presidential Library, showcases the images of “an angel in white” which allowed soften and romanticize the harsh reality of wartime. The project is timed to the centenary anniversary of the end of the First World War and implemented jointly with the Union of Deltiologists of Russia - the All-Russian public organization of collectors and lovers of postcards.

By this date, the Presidential Library’s collections entered with new materials from the family archives of the Ivanov-Rozhnovskys, Malakhovs, and Kulikovs. These are documents, photographs, letters, memories and diaries of residents of the besieged city. The materials are available on the library's portal and can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
