March 9 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of the first person to conquer space, Hero of the Soviet Union Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin. He lived a very short life - only 34 years. Gagarin conquered space at the age of 27.

July 14, 2019 marks the 276th anniversary of the birth of Gavrila Derzhavin, the first Russian poet of his time, extraordinary and successful statesman: he was the governor of Olonets and Tambov Governorates, the cabinet secretary of Catherine II, the minister of justice of Russia and retired as a senator and a real secret advisor. June 2, 2019 marks the 192th anniversary of the birth of a major Russian statesman, jurist, chief procurator of the Most Holy Synod Konstantin Pobedonostsev. The Presidential Library’s portal features a collection about his controversial personality. It includes digital copies of more than a hundred and fifty rare documents - diaries, official notes, projects, biographical materials, as well as the most general reports of the Procurator-General and his scientific works.

2021 marks the 200th anniversary of Nikolay Nekrasov, an outstanding Russian poet and democrat, publisher and public figure (1821-1878). The Russian State Library arranged a book and illustrative exhibition revealing his work, activities in the magazines Sovremennik and Otechestvennye Zapiski, friends and associates. It also introduces some new information about the poet.
