The HP report reads that Information Optimization solutions will turn information environment of organizations into one where information is managed for efficiency and compliance, while being leveraged for competitive business advantage.

IT and Media: First factory newspaper of Chelyabinsk goes digital

ELAR Corporation has digitized the collection of newspapers, housed in the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library. More than 9,000 newspaper pages of the Chelyabinsk Tractor Factory’s “Za Trudovuyu Doblest” newspaper have been digitized. A valuable collection featuring 3,336 issues (1942-1965) of the regional periodical has entered the library’s electronic holdings.

IT and Society: Google to digitize The New York Times collection of old photos from as back as the 19th century

Google has teamed up with The New York Times to digitize over five million photos from the newspaper’s photo collection. Google is going to digitize both the photos’ imagery and data at the back of images. The electronic library will become available on Google Cloud Platform, the company has announced in its blog.
