Fyodor Ushakov in the spotlight of the Presidential Library

February 24, 2020 marks the 276th anniversary of the birth of Fyodor Ushakov (1744–1817), the illustrious Russian naval commander, admiral, one of the founders of the Black Sea Fleet. He developed and applied maneuverable tactics, won a number of major victories over the Turkish fleet, and successfully conducted the Mediterranean campaign of the Russian fleet during the war against France.

The Bookseller informs, that the President of France Nicolas Sarkozy called for France’s fixed print book price law to be extended to digital books and for the European Commission to authorize EU countries to cut VAT on all cultural products.

January 1, 1961 in the Soviet Union was held a currency reform, which resulted in changing of standard of prices, ten times strengthening of the monetary unit and, respectively, the recalculation of prices and tariffs, rates, salaries, pensions, allowances, etc.
было произведено изменение масштаба цен, укрупнение денежной единицы в десять раз и соответственно пересчёт цен... учёта 4 мая 1960 г. Совет Министров принял постановление об изменении с 1 января 1961 г. масштаба цен... и замене находящихся в обращении денег новыми деньгами.
Установление нового масштаба цен позволяло..., был изменён не в 10 раз, как внутренние цены и зарплаты, а лишь в 4,44 раза и после реформы составил 90... было произведено изменение масштаба цен, укрупнение денежной единицы в десять раз и соответственно пересчёт... цен и тарифов, ставок, окладов, пенсий, пособий и т. д.

о том, что позволят издателям книг самим устанавливать цены на электронные книги, продаваемые в их магазинах... было бы устанавливать специальные цены.
В компании Sony, где также занимаются производством электронных... долларов за экземпляр, хотя по некоторым позициям компания намерена установить специальные цены... конкретных цен и названий издательств пока воздерживаются.
Что касается компании Apple, где намерены... для App Store. Издатель книги сам может установить цену продажи, но 30% от этой цены заберет себе Apple, оставшиеся 70% отойдут издателю.

"The longest, fierce and heroic battle of the Great Patriotic War entered the history of the Second World War as a phenomenon that still causes great interest of Russian and foreign researchers", writes military historian Nikolai Oleinik in a dissertation Battle for Leningrad: Study of Events and Analysis of Losses in the Luban Offensive Operation (January-July 1942).
