The 1035th anniversary of the Christianization of Rus' is celebrated on July 28, 2023, on the day of memory of Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir. The Presidential Library’s electronic collections contain a large number of historical and research materials dedicated to this important event. Among them are rare publications, research papers, video lectures and radio broadcasts.

On July 8, Russia celebrates the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. This is a holiday dedicated to family values.

The presentation of the digital collection “Electronic Library of Marshal Alexander Pokryshkin”, dedicated to the life and exploits of the legendary pilot, three times Hero of the Soviet Union, took place in the Small Hall of the Government of Novosibirsk Region on March 28, 2023.

Knowledge Day is celebrated on September 1. The holiday has been existed since 1984. Traditionally, this day is considered the beginning of a new academic year for Russian schoolchildren, students, teachers and professors. On the eve of the holiday, the Presidential Library presents materials that will facilitate the educational process more interesting.

79 years ago, on September 8, 1941, Leningrad was surrounded by enemy troops. The fascist Siege, which lasted 872 days, began. The Presidential Library, together with the "Radio Rossii" (the primary public radio station in Russia) and the "Peterburgskiy Dnevnik" newspaper, held a large-scale campaign devoted to preserving the historical memory of the Siege of Leningrad of 1941–1944.

St. Prince Alexander Nevsky, who did not lose a single battle, was born on May 13, 1221. According to the Decree of the President of Russia, 2021 marks the 800th anniversary of one of the most significant and honourable figures in Russian history.

September 24, 2020 marks the 281th anniversary of the birth of the largest statesman and military leader during the reign of Catherine Grigory Potemkin (1739-1791). His name is associated with two victories in the Russian-Turkish wars and the annexation of the Crimea to Russia.

October 1, 2020 marks the 266th anniversary of the birth of the Russian Emperor Paul I (1754-1801). The opinion of contemporaries about the autocrat, the palace intrigues influenced his personality, and also the results of his short reign are publicly provided using materials from the Presidential Library’s collections.

October 15, 2020 marks the 206th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov, one of the greatest and unsolved poets in Russia. The fact that Lermontov lived for only 27 years did not prevent him from leaving a huge literary heritage.

Specialists from the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, operating on the basis of the Penza Regional Library named after M. Yu. Lermontov, have prepared a new historical tournament entitled "From Peter the Great to Paul I." Teams of librarians from the Volgograd, Moscow, Oryol, Penza, Tomsk, and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as the Republics of Karelia, Komi, and Crimea, participated in the test run.

November 22, 2020 marks the 219th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer, lexicographer, ethnographer, compiler of the Explanatory Dictionary of the Living Great Russian Language Vladimir Ivanovich Dal (1801-1872).

November 28, 2020 marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Alexandrovich Blok (1880–1921) - a classic of Russian literature of the 20th century, one of the largest representatives of Russian Symbolism, poet, writer, publicist, playwright, translator and literary critic. December 5, 2020 marks the 217th anniversary of the birth of Fyodor Tyutchev (1803–1873) - poet, diplomat, publicist, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences, privy councilor. His poems are still considered by many people to be unsurpassed in Russian poetry. Marking the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, specialists from the Presidential Library and the Museum Association of Leningrad Region present a new interactive project - a virtual tour of the Nevsky Pyatachok State Museum.
