The Central Suburban Passenger Company – the largest suburban commuter railway company in Russia - has teamed up with LitRes e-book store and launched e-books app. Passengers now have a chance to download and read books while commuting. The “Timetable and Tickets. Central Suburban Passenger Company” application now features a new “Free books” option. It is an electronic library, which consists of 100 books: classics, newly published books and audiobooks. You may download any of them and enjoy reading whenever you like.
October 14–17, 2018, Petrozavodsk, the National Library of the Republic of Karelia and the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia under the auspices of the regional government are holding the Interregional Academic and Practical Conference “Library Space. Reader. Time: Marking the 185th Anniversary of the National Library of the Republic of Karelia” — the 12th Conference of the Library Association of the Republic of Karelia, dedicated to the foundation of the oldest library of the region.
The Sergiyev Posad Museum-Reserve (Moscow Region) has teamed up with Moscow Kremlin Museums, the State Historical Museum and private collector Kamil Khaydakov to launch the “Iron and Courage” exhibition. It is dedicated to the momentous historical event for our country, associated with the Holy-Trinity Monastery of St. Sergius. The Truce of Deulino was signed 400 years ago, thus putting an end to the Time of Troubles.
The exhibition “Sent into Exile into the 20th Century...” is launched by the Russian State Library (Manuscript Department) in the Pashkov House, Rumyantsev Hall (The Russian State Library, Moscow). It is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Alexey F. Losev (1893—1988), an outstanding Russian philosopher, philologist, prominent specialist in antique aesthetics, logic, and linguistics. The exposition showcases materials from Alexey Losev’s private archive at the Russian State Library Manuscript Department.
