Historical films and lectures available online on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the broadcast program from May 4 to 8, each user has the opportunity to learn about the state and social policies of Catherine the Great, about the history of the Synod building, where the Presidential Library is housed today, about the Synodal Printing House and the Synodal Library, about public prosecutors and members Synod. The documentary film “Smolny” and the video lecture “250 years of the Smolny Institute of Noble Maidens” will focus on the history of the Smolny Institute of Noble Maidens. 

A number of videos are dedicated to the Great Victory Day. The video film “Victory is one to everyone” spotlights the invaluable contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of all sixteen socialist republics that were part of the USSR. The lecture of the doctor of historical sciences, professor of the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University, Kirill Nazarenko, is devoted to the trends of modern historiography of the Great Patriotic War. The film from the cycle “On the Way to the Great Victory” from the collection of documentaries of the historical channel “365 Days TV” “Indestructible and Legendary” illustrates the story of the 2nd Guards Army on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War.

The Presidential Library’s portal will broadcast all the films of the documentary trilogy "Final", which illustrates the latest battles during the Great Patriotic War in Europe, as well as about the largest military operation of the time - the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation.

The film "Letters from the Front" will tell about family stories, photographs and letters of participants in the Great Patriotic War. The multimedia pages were voiced by children studying at the school of young professionals “M-Art” as part of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Educational Establishment of the Center for Creative Development and Humanitarian Education of Children “On Vasilievsky”.
