The Presidential Library’s films illustrate the defence of the Fatherland and the history of the Holy Synod

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the broadcast program, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated on February 23, the video "Victory is one to Everyone", telling about the invaluable contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of all sixteen socialist republics that were part of the USSR, about united struggle of the peoples of the USSR against fascism, will be shown. 

On this holiday, users will also be offered a video version of the meeting with the honorary citizen of St. Petersburg Mikhail Mikhailovich Bobrov, which took place in 2017 as part of the Presidential Library's educational project "Video lecture Knowledge of Russia". At this meeting, Mikhail Mikhailovich spoke about his participation in the Great Patriotic War.

On February 25, on the day of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Holy Synod, the Presidential Library invites watching the film "The Holy Synod", which tells about the history of the building where the Synod was located, about the Synod printing house, about the library of the Moscow Theological Seminary, the Synod Library, about the chief prosecutors and members of the Synod, about the missionary activity of the Synod. The documentary was created by the specialists of the Presidential Library, which is located in the historic building of the Synod.

Film “Laurentian Chronicle. The Birth of Russian Statehood”, which is available online, is dedicated to one of the oldest Russian written monuments. The film highlights the stages of preparation and implementation of the project to digitize and provide an electronic copy of the Laurentian Chronicle for free access.

Without leaving home, it is now possible to visit the famous icebreaker Krassin, learn about its history, life and exploits, to visit the exhibition, prepared jointly by the Presidential Library and the Museum "Icebreaker Krassin marking the centenary of the vessel which is illustrated by the film “Icebreaker Krassin. 100 years in the history of Russia”.
