Films and video lectures available online on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Presidential Library’s portal from Monday to Friday in Live broadcasts section provides broadcasting of films, video lectures and tours prepared by the Presidential Library, as well as by leading film studios of the country.

In accordance with the program of broadcasts, on the eve of the International Theater Day, which is traditionally celebrated on March 27, the webinar "History of the Entertainment Culture in Russia" will be shown to the users. The webinar will feature printed materials on the history of the development of Russian theater and cinema, unique archival materials, texts of productions from different years, photographs, sketches of scenery, video lectures by famous artists included in the Presidential Library’s collections.

"The Leningrad Addresses of Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov" is the title of the Presidential Library's documentary dedicated to the famous designer of small arms. The video shows one of the country's oldest artillery ranges, where some samples of Kalashnikov's small arms were tested; installation of a monument to the designer on the territory of the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers Troops and Signal Corps; rare photographs from the Kalashnikov family archive and Mikhail Timofeevich's awards - including the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called.

115 years ago, at the end of March 1906, an important event took place in the social and political life of Russia - the elections to the First State Duma in the Russian Empire began. To see the grand opening of the State Duma of the first convocation - taking the imperial regalia into the throne room of the Winter Palace, Nicholas II with his entourage, a solemn divine service, hear the emperor's speech on the throne will be allowed by footage of the rare newsreel "Opening of the first convocation of the State Council and the State Duma on April 27, 1906", which will be shown on the Presidential Library’s portal.

March 23, on World Meteorology Day and the Day of Workers of the Hydrometeorological Service of Russia, within the framework of the educational project of the Presidential Library "Video lecture Knowledge of Russia, it is proposed to watch online the video lecture "History of the Hydrometeorological Service of Russia".

In addition, the portal users will see the premiere. On March 26, at 12:00, a new film of the Presidential Library "The Saved Frescoes of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin of the Ferapontov Monastery", filmed in Vologda Region will be shown. At the end of the 15th century, a stone cathedral was erected on the territory of the Ferapontov Monastery of the Nativity of the Mother of God, and an artel of artists, led by the famous master Dionysius, was invited to paint it, according to the text of the chronicle on the slope of the northern door...The main curator of the frescoes of the Dionysius Museum, Elena Shelkova, and the director of the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve, Mikhail Sharomazov, tell the story of the course of these works.
