The Presidential Library marking the 325th anniversary of the Russian Navy

In 2021 the Russian Navy celebrates its 325th anniversary. Its history and achievements will be touched upon at the annual conference Naval Knowledge Day at the Presidential Library, which will take place on September 2 at 10:00 Moscow time.

The event will be hosted by the Hero of the Russian Federation, Rear Admiral Vsevolod Khmyrov and Assistant to the Chairman of the Regional Public Organization of Admirals and Generals of the Russian Navy "Admirals Club", Adviser to the Director of the Sevastopol Military History Museum-Reserve, Captain 1st rank retired Anatoly Razdolgin.

The conference will be broadcast live in Live broadcasts section on the Presidential Library's portal and on the institution's YouTube channel.

During the event, servicemen and specialists in the field of studying, preserving and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of the Russian Navy will deliver their speeches. They will tell about Peter I who created the fleet, about the declassified chronicles of the military operations of the USSR Navy in the Great Patriotic War and about the victories of the Russian fleet during the Northern War.

The event will also focus on the merits of Russian naval commanders and memorable dates in the history of the country: the 320th anniversary of the creation of the first secular higher naval educational institution in Russia; 300th anniversary of the Nystadt Peace Treaty; The 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the beginning of the siege of Leningrad and the transition of ships of the Baltic Fleet from Tallinn to Kronstadt; 20th anniversary of the canonization of the saint of the Russian Orthodox Church, the righteous warrior Theodore Ushakov.

The conference Naval Knowledge Day in the Presidential Library will be attended by representatives of the Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy, St. Petersburg Diocese, St. Petersburg State Maritime Technical University, Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and River Fleet, Admiral Senyavin Marine Technical College, Morskoye Nasledie Association, Information Historical and Scientific Center - Military Historical Library of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Central Naval Library, the Russian State Archive of the Navy, the Naval Council under the Government, Marinesko Museum of the History of Russian Submarine Forces, regional public organization of admirals and generals of the Russian Navy Club of Admirals, Admiralty Coordination Council of public veteran organizations of the Navy and others.

Representatives of cultural institutions and educational institutions from Kaliningrad, Vladivostok, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Sevastopol and others will join the event via video-conferencing mode.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.
