Online lectures in honor of Dmitry Sergeevich Likhachev

November 24-25, 2021, on the eve of the 115th anniversary of the birth of the largest scientist and defender of Russian culture, academician Dmitry Sergeevich Likhachev, which is celebrated on November 28, the Presidential Library will host two online lectures dedicated to the famous philologist, literary critic, public figure.

Milena Rozhdestvenskaya, who defended her thesis under the scientific supervision of Dmitry Sergeevich, now - Doctor of Philology, Professor of St. Petersburg State University, will tell about the role of Likhachev and his scientific school in the study Old Russian literature at the first online lecture which will be held on November 24 at 12:00.

The second online lecture will be devoted to the scientist's civil, social and city protection activities. The report “Dmitry Likhachev about Historical and Cultural Memory" by Irina Lobakova, Ph.D. in Philology, senior researcher at the Department of Old Russian Literature at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House), Russian Academy of Sciences, who was Dmitry Sergeevich's referent, will be delivered. The event will begin at 11:00 Moscow time on November 25.

Online lectures will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the live events program and on the official page on the VKontakte social network.

November 30, 2021 at 11:00 the Presidential Library, as part of the Knowledge of Russia project, will host a video lecture entitled "Man and Scientist" dedicated to Dmitry Sergeevich Likhachev. The video lecture is free. The meeting will be broadcast live on the Presidential Library's portal in Live broadcasts section in accordance with the live events program and on the institution's YouTube channel.
