Round-the-clock broadcasting available on the Presidential Library’s portal

The Internet-broadcasting network has been expanded on the Presidential Library’s portal. From now on, films and video lectures, prepared by the Presidential Library and by leading film studios of the country, will be broadcast round-the-clock seven days a week. Thus, it will be convenient to watch for users from all over Russia – from Kaliningrad to the Far East, as well as from other countries.

As usual, screenings of films and video lectures are timed to coincide with memorable and significant dates, as well as with large-scale events at the Presidential Library.

Thus, in accordance with the broadcast program, on October 5, marking World Teachers’ Day, users will have an opportunity to watch a documentary, the hero of which is an art teacher from Staraya Russa, publisher of the All-Russian art magazine for children Vvedenskaya Storona Nikolai Lokotkov. Why did the artist, teacher and publisher settle in the Russian outback; what holds him there? The answer to these questions is given in the film “Art Teacher. History of the Magazine”, prepared by the Presidential Library’s specialists.

One the same day, the screening of the video film “Teachers of Peter I”, based on materials from the Presidential Library’s electronic collections, will take place. The film tells about the first fifteen years of Emperor Peter I’s education, about his life in the country residences Preobrazhenskoye and Izmaylovo, in the Moscow German sloboda.

The television program on the solemn day, dedicated to teachers, also features a video recording of the concert with the participation of the State Kremlin Orchestra of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation that took place at the Presidential Library within the framework of the anniversary XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. There, works of Glière, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Verdi, Bizet, Rossini and other famous composers have been performed by Merited Artists of Russia, soloists of the leading theaters of the country, winners of international competitions. All performances are united by the theme of Russian statehood, the history of our country.

Broadcast of a whole series of video materials on the Presidential Library’s portal is dedicated to the 65th anniversary since the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite into orbit. These are unique newsreel fragments that captured the founder of modern cosmonautics and rocket technology Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, the last minutes before Yuri Gagarin’s space flight, the documentary “Space Pilots” based on the unique video materials, shot during secret tests at the Aviation and Space Medicine Research Institute, the film “The Ascension”, exploring the moral analysis of human exploration of space, the video lecture “106 minutes of Yuri Gagarin: declassified details of the first space flight”.

Viewers will have a chance to learn unknown details of the foreign tour to Europe and the USA, conducted by Sergei Yesenin with Isadora Duncan, by watching a video lecture that will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal on October 3, the poet’s birthday.

The documentary “In Search of the Lost “Post Office” will be broadcast on World Post Day, celebrated on October 9. The screen adaptation of the famous children’s poem “Post Office” by Samuil Marshak was released in 1929, arousing worldwide interest. Already in 1930, artist and director Mikhail Tsekhanovsky produced a new, voiced version of the “Post Office”, which became the first Soviet sound animated film. By the end of the 1950s, this version is considered lost. The plot of the film “In Search of the Lost “Post Office” tells about the search for the sound version of the cartoon. Film experts Nikolai Izvolov and Sergei Kapterev tell about the search for cinematographic works, the investigation of their history, the people, who dedicated their life to researching films, archivists, critics and museum workers.
