Presidential Libraries Association to be formed in St. Petersburg

The signing of the Protocol of Intentions to form Presidential Libraries Association will be held on December 12, 2022 at 12:00. Such an organization is being created for the first time and will have an international status.

The document is planned to be signed by the heads of the following institutions: the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, the Presidential Library of the Office of the President of Republic of Azerbaijan and the Library of the First President of Republic of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan, Russia and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the Association's formation is the development of information and bibliographic support for public authorities and administration, international cooperation in the field of research, educational and cultural activities, as well as providing wide access to world cultural values.

Within the framework of cooperation joint meetings, round tables, conferences and other events in order to exchange experience and information on issues of mutual interest will be held and arranged.

The document also notes the need to develop a long-term program of the Association spotlighting the main tasks of presidential libraries.

The location of the governing bodies of the Association is the Presidential Library located in St. Petersburg on Senate Square, 3.

The history of Russia's relations with Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, which presidential libraries will form the Association, is available on Presidential Library’s portal of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation. The collections of documents from the library’s holdings dedicated to the development of cooperation between countries involve archival materials and documents, essays, studies, maps, photo and video materials.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 14:00 December 9, 2022.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
