The cultural space of St. Petersburg to be discussed at a multimedia lesson at the Presidential Library

On April 13, 2023 at 11:30 Moscow time the Presidential Library will host a multimedia lesson for schoolchildren “How to make the old new? Creative spaces of St. Petersburg of the 21st century”.

The event will continue the thematic cycle “The Origins of St. Petersburg Hospitality: Events, People, Places” - a joint educational project of the Presidential Library and St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

The multimedia lesson participants will discuss the process of transforming the old urban space into a new one. The creation of new places of attraction for modern St. Petersburg, the preservation of the cultural code, the harmonious combination of eras and trends are the main topics that will be discussed at the event.

Associate Professor of the Department of Service and Congress and Exhibition Activities of the Faculty of Service, Tourism and Hospitality of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, Candidate of Economic Sciences Victoria Orlovskaya and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Management in the Service Sector of the Faculty of Service, Tourism and Hospitality of St. Petersburg State Economic University University, development director of the Petrovsky Aquatoria Model Museum Olga Maslennikova will speak at the event.

It should be noted that as part of the cycle “The Origins of St. Petersburg Hospitality: Events, People, Places”, which was launched in March 2021, the previous multimedia lessons discussed the impact of Peter the Great’s reforms on the development of tourism in Russia, issues of etiquette and service in pre-revolutionary Russia. It was also about the first restaurants, hotels, international exhibitions and the future of the tourism industry in St. Petersburg.

The multimedia lesson “How to make the old new? Creative spaces of St. Petersburg of the 21st century” is free of charge. The event will be broadcast on the Presidential Library’s portal in the Live broadcasts section in accordance with the program of live events, on the Rutube-channel of the institution, as well as on the pages on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
