The International Forum "Commonwealth of Academic Arts: the Past and the Present" to open in the Presidential Library

On August 21, 2023 at 14:00 the Presidential Library will host the grand opening of the International Forum "Commonwealth of Academic Arts: the Past and the Present".

The Forum will be held as part of the International festival and symposium "Commonwealth of Academic Arts", which includes a whole series of scientific, artistic and musical events aimed at bringing cultures together and uniting the peoples of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The project is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the CIS and is included in the national plan for the implementation of the events "St. Petersburg - the Cultural Capital of the Commonwealth" in 2023.

The world's first festival of this format, which will be held in St. Petersburg from August 20-25, 2023, will bring together young and world-famous opera singers, artists, heads of creative unions, theaters and cultural associations from the CIS member states, Serbia, Syria and China.

The motto of the International Forum, which will take place in the Presidential Library, is "Art is limitless and eternal, it unites peoples and nations". The goals of the event are to support academic art; development of cultural and economic interaction between different states; promoting spiritual growth and affirmation in society of the ideas of humanism, justice and tolerance; formation of an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, contributing to bringing interethnic relations to a new level through the tools of public diplomacy, as well as creating favorable conditions for their development.

Within the framework of the forum, world-famous scientists and art critics, graduate students, doctoral students from different cities and countries of the Commonwealth will make scientific reports. Among the guests of honor are representatives of the ministries of culture of the Commonwealth states, parliamentarians, presidents of national academies of sciences and arts, directors of conservatories and theaters of the CIS.

The festival and symposium "Commonwealth of Academic Arts" is implemented by the St. Petersburg Charitable Foundation of Irina Bogacheva "Art-Petersburg" together with the interstate information and analytical journal about the culture and art of the CIS member states "Commonwealth of Arts" and the research museum at the Russian Academy of Arts supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation.
